Compliment slips

Proof & Print compliment slips start at $315 inc GST for 500 printed both sides. Ours are DL, printed on the same 100gsm laser-safe stock as our letterheads, so the slip, the letter and the envelope arrive as one set. Practices, agencies and corporate offices order them alongside letterheads, usually in runs of 500 to 5,000.

Should compliment slips be printed on one side or both?

Print both sides if you want the slip to feel part of the stationery suite. Print the front only, at $215 for 500 against $315, when the slip sits face-up on a document or needs room for a handwritten note.

DL is a third of an A4 sheet (99 x 210mm). The stock is 100gsm uncoated and laser safe, so you can run slips through an office printer if you want to add a typed note.

Both sides (our default). The front carries your logo and contact details. The back can carry a brand colour, a pattern, an office list or a line about your firm. A printed back makes the slip feel like part of the stationery suite rather than an offcut.

Front only. The back stays blank paper. It is $215 for 500 slips against $315 for both sides, and it is a sensible choice when the slip always sits face-up on top of a document. It reads as plainer when turned over, and leaves room for a handwritten note on the back.

How much do compliment slips cost?

500 DL compliment slips printed both sides cost $315 inc GST and 1,000 cost $320, with metro delivery included.

DL, 100gsm uncoated, laser safe. All prices inc GST, with metro delivery included.

Compliment slips: price per run (columns are quantities, in slips), AUD inc GST, metro delivery and a human proof check included. Our recommended default: Both sides. Prices as at 18 October 2026.

Both sides$315$320$345$415
Front only$215$220$250$330

Much of the price is in setting up the run, so 1,000 slips cost only a little more than 500. Larger runs are quoted by your consultant.

What do we check on a compliment slip proof?

Every compliment slip is checked by a person against our written proof checklist. For compliment slips, that means:

  • Trim size, 3mm bleed and safe area. On a DL slip the safe area is narrow, so we check that your contact details are not crowded towards the trim.
  • Colour space and brand colour values. Uncoated stock prints colour softer than a coated card. We check your CMYK and Pantone references so the slip matches your letterhead.
  • Fonts embedded or outlined, and fine text and hairlines that might fill in on uncoated paper.
  • Phone numbers, emails and web addresses formatted consistently with your letterhead and cards.
  • Sector details, such as ABN or ACN, licence numbers or a professional standards scheme line, where you would expect them. We flag gaps; it is not legal advice.
  • Front and back orientation. If you print both sides, we check that the back reads the right way up when the slip is turned over.
  • Writing space. If the slip is meant for a handwritten note, we check that the printed design leaves room for one.

How long do compliment slips take to arrive?

Our target for compliment slips is 5 to 7 business days after you approve the proof, the same as letterheads, so a matched set can be printed and delivered together. Delivery to metro Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Canberra is included in every price. Perth, Hobart, Darwin and regional addresses are quoted at cost before you pay.

Priority turnaround adds 25% (minimum $95) and dispatches one business day sooner where the product allows. Your consultant confirms the date before you pay. Split delivery to other offices is $35 per additional metro address.

Can compliment slips be printed on other stocks?

Yes, as quoted work. The builder covers DL slips on our letterhead stock; slips on a cotton or heavier writing stock are specified and quoted by your consultant together with a matching letterhead, so the two match.

Compliment slips are part of The Practice Suite, which brings cards, letterheads, slips, envelopes and folders together under one design direction. If you are refreshing a firm's stationery, it is worth a look before ordering items one by one.

Storage and scheduled reorder is $29 a month: we hold your approved artwork and up to four cartons of stock, and reorder on a schedule you set.

Questions

Something else? All questions or ask your consultant.

What size is a DL compliment slip?

DL is a third of an A4 sheet. It fits a DL envelope flat and sits neatly on top of a folded A4 letter or a set of documents.

Are compliment slips the same stock as my letterhead?

Yes. They are printed on the same 100gsm uncoated, laser-safe stock as our letterheads, so the two match in colour and feel.

Should I print both sides?

Both sides is our default because the back can carry a brand colour, pattern or office list. Front only is $215 for 500 against $315 for both sides, and is a sensible choice if the back is never seen.

Is there a minimum order?

Our minimum order is $150 inc GST. Compliment slips start at $215 for 500 printed on the front only, so a slip order on its own is already above the minimum.

Can I see a printed sample before the run?

Yes. A posted hard-copy proof on the real stock is $75 and adds 2 to 3 business days. Our $25 sample box, credited on your first order, also shows our stocks and finishes.
