Aluminium (ACM) signboards

Most ACM signs suit the 600 x 450mm board, the size the builder prices, which holds a logo, a short headline and contact details. Larger, shaped and double-sided boards are specified and quoted by your consultant.

ACM is aluminium composite material: two thin aluminium skins bonded to a solid core.

600 x 450mm (the builder size). A compact, rigid panel for a prestige "for sale" sign, a site contact board, a reception sign or a directional panel. It holds a logo, a short headline and contact details comfortably.

The builder prices this size because it covers most fixed and freestanding uses with no extra specification. Anything larger, shaped or printed on both sides is specified with your consultant (see below), because size, fixing method and where the sign will stand all change how it should be made.

ACM or corflute?

• ACM is heavier and rigid. It stays flat, has a solid edge and feels permanent. It suits a sign that stays up for a long campaign, is fixed to a wall, or needs to look substantial.
• Corflute is lightweight fluted plastic with corner eyelets. It is easier to carry, stake and swap, and costs less per board in volume. It suits listing boards that go up and come down every few weeks.

How long either material lasts outdoors depends on exposure, position and handling, so your consultant recommends a material once they know where the sign will be.

Every ACM board is checked by a person against our written proof checklist. For ACM signs, that means:

• Image resolution at the printed size. We check every photograph and logo at full size and flag any that will look soft.
• Viewing distance and type size. We flag phone numbers, names and headlines that are too small to read from where the sign will be seen.
• Fixing positions. If the sign will be screwed, riveted or mounted on posts, we check that nothing important sits where a fixing or frame will go.
• Trim size, bleed and safe area, so the design sits cleanly on the panel edge.
• Colour space and brand colour values, so the board matches your other signage. Brand colour match is $95 per design if exact colour matters.
• Licence numbers and sector details where you would expect them, such as an agent licence number or a builder's details on a site sign. We flag gaps; it is not legal advice.
• Contact details formatted consistently with your other print.

Our target for ACM signboards is 5 to 7 business days after you approve the proof. Delivery to metro Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Canberra is included in every price. Perth, Hobart, Darwin and regional addresses are quoted at cost before you pay.

Priority turnaround adds 25% (minimum $95) and dispatches one business day sooner where the product allows; your consultant confirms the date before you pay.

Larger sizes, routed shapes and double-sided boards are specified and quoted by your consultant. A routed board is cut to a custom outline, such as a rounded panel or your logo shape.

Fixings, posts, frames and installation are arranged through your consultant. They are not part of the builder price.
