A blank hoarding along a development site

Site hoardings

Proof & Print prints hoarding panels and large-format site graphics, measured and scheduled with your project team. Developers, builders' marketing teams and project managers order them for new developments, refurbishments and site launches.

Quoted by your consultant

A hoarding carries the project name, the render, the sales message and the contact details at street scale for the whole build. There is no price builder for hoardings. Each job is specified with your consultant and quoted in writing, inc GST and with metro delivery included, before anything prints. A person checks every file against our written proof checklist.

Why are site hoardings quoted rather than priced online?

Site hoardings are quoted in writing because run length, panel sizes, the surface and the build schedule differ on every site.

A signboard has a size and a quantity. A hoarding has a run length, panel sizes that vary along the site, returns and gates, a surface or system the graphics go on, a build schedule that moves, and a design that has to line up from one panel to the next. A builder cannot price that honestly. Your consultant works through it with your project team, writes the specification down, and you approve the specification and the price together.

How do I specify a site hoarding for print?

A site hoarding is specified by its measurements, the surface or system it goes on, the printed material, how the artwork splits across panels, and the schedule.

Your consultant works through each of these with you and records the answer in your written specification.

Measurements. The dimensions of every panel or elevation, including returns, gates and any panels that differ from the rest. Drawings are ideal. Where measurements are not available, a site measure is arranged through your consultant.

The surface or system. What the graphics go on, for example existing hoarding panels, a frame system or temporary fencing. The surface decides the material we specify and how the graphics are made up.

Material. Your consultant recommends a printed material to suit the surface, the exposure and how long the hoarding will stand. For temporary fencing, fence mesh is wind-permeable and lets air pass through. How long any material lasts outdoors depends on exposure and handling, so we specify it once we know the site.

Artwork across panels. A design that runs across many panels has to be split so that images and text line up at every join and stay clear of gaps, posts and gates. Your consultant confirms how the artwork will be split.

Schedule. The date the hoarding goes up, and any staged dates if the site is released in sections.

What do you need from me to quote a hoarding?

To quote accurately, your consultant needs:

  1. The site address and suburb, and the name of the project contact on site.
  2. Panel or elevation dimensions, with drawings or site photos where available.
  3. The surface or system the graphics will go on.
  4. The number of panels, and any that differ in size or shape.
  5. The date the hoarding goes up, and whether it is fixed by a launch or a site milestone.
  6. Artwork or a design brief. If artwork is not ready, we can quote from the specification and check files later. Artwork setup is $95 per design.
  7. Branding guidelines from the developer, builder or agency, so colours match the marketing suite and sales material.
  8. Statutory content you need on the hoarding, as supplied by your builder or project team.

Start a brief

What do we check on a hoarding proof?

Every hoarding is checked by a person against our written proof checklist. For hoardings, that includes:

  • Image resolution at the printed size. Renders and photography are enlarged many times. We check every image at its final size and flag any that will break up.
  • Viewing distance and type size. We flag phone numbers, web addresses and project names that will be too small to read from the footpath or the road.
  • Panel splits and joins, so faces, text and logos do not fall across a join, a post or a gate.
  • Trim, bleed and safe area for every panel size.
  • Colour space and brand colour values, so the hoarding matches the marketing suite and brochures.
  • Site and sector details you would expect, such as builder and site contact details. We flag gaps; statutory and safety signage remains the responsibility of your builder and project team, and this is not planning or legal advice.
  • Quantities, versions and panel order match the approved specification.

How long does hoarding printing take?

Your consultant confirms dates for your hoarding in writing with the quote. The stages below are typical timelines, not fixed commitments.

  • Brief to first response: a consultant replies to every brief within one business day.
  • Specification and written quote: typically 2 to 5 business days, depending on whether measurements and drawings are available or a site measure is needed.
  • Files to proof: typically 1 to 2 business days after we receive final files.
  • Proof approval to delivery: typically 5 to 10 business days, depending on the size of the run and the material.

If the hoarding has to be up by a fixed date, tell your consultant first. We plan back from it and tell you plainly if the date is tight.

Is delivery included with site hoardings?

Yes. Delivery of hoarding graphics to metro Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Canberra is included in every price, including to a metro site address. Perth, Hobart, Darwin and regional sites are quoted at cost before you pay. Hoardings are scheduled with your consultant.

Are site measures and installation included with hoardings?

Site measures and installation are arranged through your consultant and shown as separate lines on the hoarding quote, so print and on-site work are never mixed together. Everything on this page is specified and quoted by your consultant.

For the rest of the site, see banners and site mesh for fence mesh and PVC banners, aluminium (ACM) signboards for site contact boards, and rigid display boards for the marketing suite. The Development Suite brings display boards, pull-up banners, site mesh, brochures and folders together for a launch.

Questions

Something else? All questions or ask your consultant.

Why are hoardings quoted rather than priced online?

Every site is different: panel sizes, the length of the run, the surface the graphics go on, access and the build schedule all change the job. Your consultant specifies it with your project team and confirms a written price before anything prints.

Do you install hoarding graphics?

Installation is not part of our print price. Where it is needed, it is arranged through your consultant and shown as its own line on the quote, so you can see what is print and what is on-site work.

What do you need to give us a quote?

The site address, panel or elevation dimensions, the number of panels, the surface or system the graphics go on, the date the hoarding goes up, and your artwork or a design brief. Drawings or site photos help.

Can you print fence mesh as well as hoarding panels?

Yes. Standard fence mesh panels of 2400 x 1800mm can be priced in the builder on our banners and site mesh page. Longer runs and other sizes are quoted with your hoarding.

Do you check statutory signage on the hoarding?

We flag details you would expect to see, such as builder and site contact details, but statutory and safety signage is the responsibility of your builder and project team. It is not planning or legal advice.

Can the hoarding match our marketing suite and brochures?

Yes. If we print both, your consultant checks colour values across the hoarding, boards and print, and brand colour match is $95 per design.
